Every wedding is different. Some are large and lavish. Others are small and simple. Then there are those that are both. I love an intimate wedding but I also love a good party. And Steph and Dan obviously felt the same.
They were married at the beautiful Oakley Hall Hotel in Basingstoke. Nestled in its vast grounds, Oakley Hall has beautiful gardens and woodland walks, perfect for romantic photos and a chance for couples to enjoy their first moments as a married couple.
Another reason Steph & Dan chose Oakley Hall was the cosy library housing wall to wall classics and it was in here that they said their vows witnessed by just 17 of their close family and friends. After champagne and confetti on the lawn they returned to the library for their wedding breakfast. Dressed with gorgeous flowers, it was cosy, moving and intimate in a small corner of this enormous Georgian building.
The three of us then headed out to the grounds to make the most of the beautiful setting. It’s such a pleasure to be spoiled for choice of backdrop and Oakley Hall didn’t disappoint. I had visited a few weeks prior to the wedding to scout for some nice spots and ended up having to shave a few off the list, as there were just too many to choose from and we needed to get back for the evening guests’ arrival.
And then the party started. Steph and Dan are a lovely couple. Funny, charismatic and genuinely good eggs and this was made evident in the turnout at their party. It was fun, loud and full of laughter. Just like them.
