May’s Sussex Business Times (SBT) Roundtable event took place at NatWest‘s Entrepreneurial Spark Hatchery in Brighton and instead of the usual private meeting, this month’s happened in front of an audience of around 50 local businesses and entrepreneurs.
Entitled “Entrepreneurship and StartUp Business Ventures: Supporting Us, Supporting Them” the SBT workshop covered topics such as past, present and future ventures, how local business is thriving, businesses supporting each other as an entrepreneurial community and ideas on how their businesses can grow.
Differing from the usual Roundtable workshops, this one required me to cover it as more of a corporate event photographer and the live audience gave the content even more relevance and poignance as they were able to engage with the panel and ask questions that affect them as businesses.
I also provided headshots of the panel for the SBT magazine in which the event will feature and just before leaving, NatWest asked me to grab a few images of the hub downstairs.
The event was a real success for both NatWest and SBT as well as, it seemed, for the audience of local businesses and entrepreneurs who finished the day networking with each other and chatting positively over the provided lunch. And it was also successful for me as I met Helen Chesshire, one of the founders of Brighton Gin who booked me to cover Green Party MP Caroline Lucas’ impending visit to their distillery in Hove.
