Lou & Alex – Epping Forest Wedding Photographer

I took an instant shine to Lou & Alex when I first met them in Brighton. And not only because they were fellow VW campervan owners. They were so excited about their forthcoming wedding and rightly so. They planned to marry in a church tucked away in the middle of Epping Forest with close family and friends and then to party hard at their wedding festival camping reception the following day. They asked me to be their wedding photographer for the first day – the ceremony at Holy Innocents Church in High Beach, Epping Forest – the same church where Lou’s parents married 46 years earlier.

After meeting his family at the nearby King’s Oak pub, Alex, his Best Man and Ushers took the short stroll down the road to the church which is nestled within the forest and a perfect setting for an intimate summer wedding. The ceremony was elegant and peaceful, echoing its surroundings and the sun shone, tipping its hat to the sunflowers of Lou’s bouquet and Alex’s lapel.

I wanted to make the most of the setting so after plenty of hugs and congratulations, we headed into the forest and then up onto the nearby hill for some romantic photos in the early evening. I always try not to pose a couple too much during these photos to make them as natural as possible. With Lou and Alex it wasn’t at all necessary. They were just so thrilled to be married to each other. Nothing else was needed.
