Brighton Headshots are a great job for me as I get to meet interesting people without travelling too far. Catherine Wilson is the Managing Director of CannaWell. They are suppliers of quality hemp CBD food supplements and skincare products.
Catherine speaks at lots of conferences so wanted a professional headshot on a plain background for corporate use. She also wanted one in a natural environment for her social media and web presence.
I therefore used two set ups for the corporate headshot. One with a large key light and reflector opposite and an unlit white background giving nice, directional light on a grey background. For the other, I used the same key light and reflector but with an extra light to slightly illuminate the background. This gave it a whiter look but not high key.
We then went outside and used the bushes to provide a blurred natural backdrop with one large key light. Catherine also had a couple of wardrobe changes.
It was great getting to know Catherine and by the time we did the last shots outside, she was feeling really relaxed. She even did lots of poses without any prompting! On a warm and sunny day, the Marina really was a lovely setting for some outdoor Brighton Headshots!
