Conference photography doesn’t just involve capturing speakers at podia. A lot of conferences span a couple of days. This gives delegates an opportunity to attend workshops and seminars and network at industry experts’ exhibition stands.
Some conferences also offer an extra day of activities or a golf day. CESA always organise a great day of competitive golfing for their delegates with various prizes awarded at the informal charity auction dinner that evening. I always provide a selection from the day’s play, shown as a slideshow throughout dinner.
The second day is dedicated to the main conference. This year boasted a fascinating selection of speakers from across the catering industry and expertly hosted by the BBC Business Editor Simon Jack. Some compelling stories from the keynote The RT Hon Lord Winston ended the day’s agenda. CESA then conduct their AGM and I finish my daytime work with headshot photography of the council members using my portable studio backdrop and lighting.
The evening’s black-tie gala dinner closed the conference with entertainment from the brilliant comedian and impressionist Luke Kempner. The CESA Director Keith Warren picked up the award for Outstanding Achievement. Another successful conference for CESA as well as a busy couple of days for me not only providing conference photography but also as a portrait photographer and sports photographer!
