Oxfordshire Wedding Photographer – Fliss & Tan

Wedding photography is always fun and exciting and that joy is taken to a new level when there are lots of unusual elements unique to that single wedding day. When a couple have put so much of themselves into the little details that comprise their special day it truly is a reflection of their combined personalities – a little insight into what makes them tick and their future as a married couple.

I met Fliss in Borneo back in 2010 when I was expedition photographer with Raleigh International and she was one of the young venturers whose voluntary work I was documenting. Although we hadn’t seen each other since, she remembered me when considering wedding photographers and I was chuffed to be capturing the day that she would marry Tan.

It had it all. Vibrant flowers sprouting from wellie-boots adorning a touching church ceremony; a confetti shower of pom-poms knitted by Fliss herself as they arrived for their reception at Sandy Lane Farm; afternoon tea served in the ancient barn; guests climbing in with the pigs for a cuddle; an ice-cream van; couple portraits on a tractor; rodeo riding, bungee running and a bouncy castle!

When I first arrived at Fliss’ parents’ house in the morning, her Mum was busy making scones and jam for the afternoon tea and worrying that the day wouldn’t come together as they’d imagined. But of course it did, and it was fabulous. A hotchpotch of main elements and finishing touches that identified this wedding uniquely to its co-creators.

“Remember Fliss & Tan’s wedding?” they’ll say.

“How could I forget!” will be the response.
