Woldingham School Wedding – Steph & Steve

As a wedding photographer, one of the most flattering ways to receive a new booking is from a friend or guest who attended a wedding I’ve photographed. It’s nice on many levels – they liked the images I produced for their friend and they also feel comfortable around me enough to want to spend the day being photographed by me. And when I arrive at their pre-wedding consultation, it’s nice to see some familiar faces.

I had photographed Emily and Ian’s wedding back in 2015 and Steph had been one of Emily’s bridesmaids. Now it was Steph’s turn to walk down the aisle and Emily would be there returning the favour as one of Steph’s bridesmaids (and flautist!). It was lovely to see Emily again and catch up with Ian a bit later after the ceremony.

I remembered how calm and supportive Steph had been for Emily and her constant smile and happy demeanour. And she was just the same on her own wedding day. Being naturally super-organised, she had ensured everything had been thought of. Not only to leave nothing to chance but also, as she said to me, so they could completely relax and enjoy the day as they should. And they did.

Their ceremony and reception were held at the beautiful Woldingham School. I love photographing weddings there. I am spoilt for choice for picturesque backdrops and it really lends itself well to wedding photography. Steph & Steve decided to have a sparkler exit and I’m just a sucker for them, so stayed right until the end to capture them say goodbye to their guests in style.

Steph and Steve are lovely souls. Loved by many and genuinely in love. And it was a pleasure to be their wedding photographer. They sparkled together all day so it was only fitting that they said farewell to their guests through a tunnel of sparklers before setting off on their journey together.
